This wsa easy to fix and you should now see it in action: if you search for a custom clig’s name, it will show up in the results.

Cligs News: EasyTweets, Twitter/GA Tool, Sever Move Update

Sonntag, Februar 15th, 2009

Sorry to disturb the peaceful silence on the Cligs blog, but I have some interesting tidbits to share with you.

Cligs Integrated into EasyTweets

First up, a very exciting bit of news: EasyTweets now has Cligs integrated!

EasyTweets is a very (very!) powerful Twitter client. It is best described by the tagline it goes by: "Easy Twitter Marketing", and it really is that. It has the works: multiple account management, scheduled tweeting, reply management, and a lot more. And now it has Cligs. The option is easy to find in the ET Settings as the screenshot below shows:

EasyTweets URL Shortening

And yes, it’s full and proper integration where you can input your Cligs API key and it will work with your Cligs account.

New Google Analytics Integration Tool for Twitter Links

Anil Batra introduced a new tool recently. I asked him to describe it and here is what he said:

If you are using Google Analytics then you should check out Google Analytics/Cligs URL builder developed by Anil Batra, author of one of the top blogs in Web Analytics and Online Marketing at http://webanalysis.blogspot.com. You can access the tool at http://www.anilbatra.com/digitalmarketing/twitter-google-analytics-url-builder.asp. This tool allows you to build cli.gs url and also enables them for tracking in your own Google Analytics tool. The tool is still in beta, send your feedback to Anil Batra.

News on the Move

I mentioned about a month ago about the plan to restructure Cligs. As an update, this is what’s going on:

  • Cligs will be moving to Amazon Web Services. I won’t bore you with the technical stuff, but it’s freakin’ awesome!
  • The new site is very quickly becoming feature complete. It will have new features too. More on that soon :)
  • The new design will also launch. Actually two designs :)

So it’s coming along quite nicely.

New Feature: Reset Your Cligs Password

Dienstag, Februar 10th, 2009

One of the most over-due feature requests is a way to reset your Cligs password on your own. A few users have been helping me test this new feature for a while now, and now it’s ready for general roll-out.

It works very simply: just visit cli.gs/user/resetpassword to start the process. If you’re already logged in, you’ll see that the system puts your username into the text box. If you are not logged in, you can enter either your username or email address. If you enter a valid username or email, a message is sent to the account’s email address with a special link that enables you to reset your password.

The password reset system may ask you to contact me for a manual reset. This could be due to a server error or most likely you do not have a valid email address associated with your account. If that’s the case, you’re going to have to contact me and prove to me your account is really yours and I’ll manually add your email address to the system, and then you can trigger a password reset.

The link to this new password reset page is found in the side bar if you’re logged out, or in your User Control Panel if you are logged in. Speaking of which, the Control Panel has been slightly updated to make it more organized.

So… rest your password! Questions/feedback at usual place.
